Why we care about Revival History

Wouldn’t you love to learn how to live in the sort of intimacy that Kathryn Kuhlman had with Holy Spirit, or to boldly act in faith as Smith Wigglesworth and others like him did? It is possible to and we believe everyone should have access to learn from the great men and women of God who have gone before us. Our Christian heritage is rich with ordinary people who sought God and changed their corner of the world in extraordinary ways. By studying what God has done in the past, we gain faith and courage to walk in sustainable revival both personally and corporately in our own areas of influence.

How RevivalHistory.com started and how it works today

In 2008 the Lord laid it on our hearts to action an idea we’d come up with while attending ministry school. Hundreds of hours of research, writing and design later, we produced the Revival History Timeline. We labored intensively over every detail to ensure excellence and are delighted with how the project came out. We wanted a simple way to quickly grasp an understanding of the ‘ever increasing purposes’ of God which didn’t require reading countless books. We think we achieved this and others seem to as well!

RevivalHistory.com exists to allow you to learn from those who have gone before us. This is made possible through helping you gain access to Christian revival resources which have all but been lost in time – the classics of revival leaders such as Smith Wigglesworth, Kathryn Kuhlman, A A Allen and others.

What birthed a desire to care about revival history and preserving it for further generations? The owner of this site is the great-granddaughter of the late A. A. Allen who was a famous “tent preacher” of the 1950’s – 1960’s. If it hadn’t been for a few faithful historians (plus dad and great-grandma Lexie!), it would have been near impossible to collect and preserve the teachings of A. A. Allen to learn from. While some artifacts are yet to be found and many need still to be digitized, most are being preserved so that not just a few select can learn from them. In time, we’ll share more with you as we’re able. A. A. Allen is certainly only a representation of so much which God has done through faithful leaders of revival.

We want to faithfully preserve and share with you anything of past revival which can be learned from. In choosing what to feature on this site, we honor what God has done and focus on the best of what God did in or through leaders or revivals. We never pretend to be the leaders themselves nor do we represent them personally. Like you, we are hungry to learn from God’s works. We make this site available to you expecting you’ll glean only what you feel is most fitting with the beliefs you have while being challenged to go deeper in relationship with God. To be clear, we honor what GOD did through people and though we are thankful people choose to labor in revival, the emphasis is on God.

Who is behind RevivalHistory.com

This website was started and is maintained by Dan & Rebekah Jones who married after graduating together at Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry in Redding, California. We are connected with Global Legacy having been sent out of Bethel Church to serve the United Kingdom. We formed Kingdom Culture Ministries in 2008 and RevivalHistory.com is an extension of what we do.

Dan is a digital designer. He was dramatically saved at age 18 and swiftly turned his passion into advancing God’s Kingdom in power and demonstration. He has a call to empower people in evangelism and healing while bringing a word to challenge believers into radically pursuing sustainable revival. Seeing heaven invade every area of society through reformational strategies has become a deep rooted longing.

Rebekah is an artist full time. She grew up in a solid Christian home and is a 4th generation minister. Rebekah has studied, pursued and taught various forms of creativity much of her life and her creative focus is on art which is encouraging and uplifting, using mixed medias with ‘no rules’ and an emphasis on having fun in God’s presence. Rebekah’s aim is to release Heaven on earth through creativity and to support others in doing the same. Revival History Resources to share?

Many believers around the world have priceless resources and materials from past generations, which can be used to spur the next generations on in our walk with the Lord today. If you feel you have materials, such as books, magazines, tracts, etc produced by prominent ministers, or about revivals or moves of God, please contact us about them. We would love to safely digitize your valuable historical items before they deteriorate or are lost or damaged and then give them back to you plus digital editions. We could then make them available to a new generation to encourage their faith. Its a fantastic way to preserve what God has done for future generations while safe-keeping and gaining digital versions of your special materials for yourself.
